The Russian animation projects The Snow Queen: Fire and Ice and Sheep and Wolves will be released in the United States in 2018. The agreement with the American distributor Vertical Entertainment was announced on the first day of the European Film Market in Berlin.
It is worth noting that Vertical Entertainment was also distributing the first movie of The Snow Queen franchise in 2013-2014.
‘We’re thrilled to partner again with Wizart and help share their creative vision for animated family films with audiences,’ says Rich Goldberg, co-President of Vertical Entertainment.
The release of the third movie is planned for the end of 2018. Thus, currently the exhibition rights for The Snow Queen: Fire and Ice are sold to over 50 countries, and the franchise has secured the status of the most successful Russian animated project abroad once more.
Besides, the distributor also announced the date of the Sheep and Wolves release. The animated movie will appear in the movie theaters as well as on VOD and digital platforms on March 9, 2018.
In 2018, Wizart projects will reach the Republic of South Africa too. The movie distribution in this republic is special for the Russian animation in the way that it uses two major local languages apart from English. In the fall of 2015, The Snow Queen became the first Russian animated movie with the Afrikaans dubbing widely released in South Africa. It is supposed that the main characters of the third movie will be speaking Zulu and Afrikaans in June already; as for the wolf Grey’s story, the viewers of the most Southern country on the African continent will get to know it in September/October of 2018.
