While the third movie of the animated franchise is winning Russian viewers’ hearts, on December
31, 2016, in China there is a release of The Snow Queen 2: The Snow King
The audience will be able to see the Wizart-produced movie during this long winter vacation: the
official holidays in China last till January 2.
4500 copies of the movie will enter the wide release: this range is 20% wider comparing to the first
movie of the franchise, which was released in China in August 2015 with support from Flame Node
While The Snow Queen wide release is awaited, Flame Node Entertainment held an active
marketing campaign, aimed at attracting the audience’s interest.
Wizart, in its turn, supported the movie release too – it presented an extended version of its
augmented reality game Snow Queen World in China. This game enables its users to take a selfie
with the franchise characters ‘live’. Wizart experts did not only translate the existing mobile
product but also added a new game feature – a selfie with the ferret Luta, a fluffy Snow Queen
character whom the Chinese audience loves so much.
“We hope that the Chinese audience will find the new story of the troll Orm and his friends’
adventures enjoyable. We’re glad that the movies of Wizart’s production are becoming more and
more interesting for the Chinese citizens. And we, in our turn, are interested in partnership with this
country. We’re negotiating our future cooperation. I’m sure this multicultural kind of cooperation
will be effective and fruitful,” noted Yuri Moskvin, Wizart’s General Producer. “And now I’d like
to wish a happy New Year and a pleasant time watching our animated comedy in a movie theater.”
In August 2015, in Beijing, aided by the Russian Embassy in the Chinese People's Republic, Wizart
and Flame Node Entertainment signed a cooperation agreement. In July 2016 a Wizart delegation
took part in negotiations with the Head of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio,
Film and Television of the People's Republic of China – to enhance the relations between the two
countries in the sphere of culture and entertainment.
We’d like to point out that the rights for the first two movies of the franchise have been sold to over
130 countries. For an animated movie by an independent studio such a huge amount of territory
means a great success. A lot of countries have seen The Snow Queen animated movie on TV –
Wizart has sold the TV exhibition rights to countries of the CIS, Latin America and the Middle
The second movie, as well as the first one, has been shown on TV in Latin America and the Middle
East, also in the USA, Canada and Thailand.
